Shine Like The Star That You Are…
I am me,
What a thing to be.
It’s a glorious thing,
Just being me.
I walk around,
With a beautiful heart.
With a head full of thoughts,
Every day, a fresh start.
I love my special life,
This thing I was born to live.
I love to receive things,
But also to give.
Sometimes I give hugs,
To the people I treasure.
Sometimes I give presents,
That bring feelings of pleasure.
There is so much fun,
In my one big life.
So many faces to meet,
So much wonder to invite.
Why do they argue?
The adults, I mean.
Why do they worry?
Why do they scream?
We are okay, aren’t we?
We are safe, happy and content?
We know what feels safe and good,
What is it to act pure of intent.
We are just fine.
We are who we are.
We are born with a body,
Made up of the same stuff as stars.
Our personalities twinkle,
Our characters shine…
But people aren’t seeing,
I think something’s wrong with their minds…
We must be brave,
Be heroic and strong.
We must remember it’s cool,
To ask questions, not wrong.
Be different. That’s awesome.
Be the same too,
Because the truth is we’re all stardust,
And there’s no need to be confused.
Settle into the magic,
Settle into the fun,
Of knowing that life,
Is a gift from the sun.
Dream of dancing,
Of walking in sands.
Of making footprints in time,
Of choosing the right side of history to stand.
Be brave. Be brave.
Be who you are.
Try to change nothing,
And simply shine like a star.
