Take your time to prepare your submissions for The Five Author Project…
JUMP TO PROJECT SUBMISSION FORM HERE
Faith in Change are launching with compassion, as well as a comprehension that it will take time for this world to trust us to do what we can… publish, print and distribute high quality content.
Are you a dreamer of other lands, a poet with a twist of fate attached to their prose? Are you the next J.R.R. Tolkien, someone who can create an entire world and languages to fill it up? Is it not fantastical that one human being can create such a thing as a brand new world on paper? Artists are capable of the same; do dancers too, in a way beyond the word, capture and repurpose moments?
Do you have a freshness about your work? Are you a voice to be reckoned with? Do you inspire hope, love, peace and honesty? Or do you dwell in trauma reprocessing, within the eye that witnesses your suffering, sitting somewhere within awareness? Are you a healer with a revelation that needs sharing? Or do you write for the children? Do you have lands of comfort, learning and fascination to create?
We do not discriminate when it comes to submissions, you could be the wealthiest person on the planet, or the poorest, don’t bother telling us, your submissions will be handled with the same care, attention and devotion. We are no vanity publishing house, we would become too bored reading boring writing and would literally put the book down. Time is of the essence when it comes to our agendas for change, be that change working on the insides of people, challenging outdated paradigms, or helping someone to resolve their suffering by escaping into a divine world of fantasy for a time; or whether the publication be poking at external change, like Ana Maria Santuario‘s, ‘Manifesto for Change: Dual Diagnosis and Disparity‘, an essay encouraging external remedy to a national crisis.
We are giving the public time to prepare, you have two years to finish your manuscripts. Submissions are already open and they will remain open until 31st December 2027.
We accept submissions from children and young people too – good writing is good writing, after all.
What do you get if you are one of, The Five?
In a nutshell, you get to publish without paying a penny. When a client signs a Semi-Self-Publishing Contract, they agree to pay for our publishing services upfront (with concessions contracts available in explicit circumstances). There is also the long standing agreement that Faith in Change Publishing hold print and distribution rights in exchange for 38% of the royalties (remember, traditional publishers take approximately 80% of the royalties, and agents take a further 7-15%). Fairness, equality, transparency and integrity are everything you are met with when we work together.
Along this pathway, The Chosen Five will receive the right to publish their book as a paperback, hardback, ebook, and in large text edition format. Faith in Change will accrue hours worked along the way, then hope to be paid for their time, experience and expertise by way of a temporary 50:50 royalty split. Once ‘services rendered’ have been paid in full via royalty earnings and company profit margins have been met, the publisher will automatically receive the standard print and distribution management fee of 38% per unit sold. Contracts pending ‘high sales bonus’ reviews.
Self publishing is all well and good, but to have a home as a writer, it is special and worth the time and money it might take for clients who choose to invest, not only in publishing their books, but in becoming a part of a community. Our ethos is one of shared learning, we look to empower our clients in the right way – towards independence. It is our wish that every subsequent publication becomes cheaper to publish because the client has picked up what we have perhaps taught them about formatting, editing and more, and they have come to do much for themselves. Scaffolded publishing is the road ahead, within an online space of hopeful energy and a belief in the work.
Manuscript Submission
Writing is a gift, treasure it and use it wisely…
Remember, the ethos is in the name, Faith in Change, write to serve the world and you can’t go wrong. Change can mean many things to many people. Innovative, up-to-date knowledge represented by a new age of writers is paramount in a world of misinformation and toxic content. Let these words act as the compass point during your contemplations as one of our potentially signed writers. Welcome to the new age of truth, trust and transparency.
You are welcome to submit manuscripts in the following formats:
- Non-fiction
- Academic essay
- Exposé and reporter printing
- Educational Programme of Study
- Fiction
- Short story collection
- Collections of poetry
- Collective anthologies (perhaps organised by a school or community)
- Travel writing
- Photography Collections
- Children’s books
Should you be submitting a photography manuscript or a collection of poetry, please adapt to the form and make it work for you. Treat the areas to copy and past chapters as sections instead.
What Happens Next?
Once you have submitted your work, we endeavour to respond within 60 working days, yet during busy times of development, print and publishing, this may turn into 90+ days, which we apologise for in advance. However, once your submission has been read, we will be in touch with an update. Do remember though, that we cannot make any final decisions until June 2026, when project submissions close. We do sit with an awareness that there might be scores of manuscripts we just want to get stuck into and that not everyone’s submission can be published at no upfront cost, what with us being a small company. However, we will be inviting writers with otherwise excellent manuscripts towards the Self-Publishing Pathway, should we (and they) still want to collaborate towards publication. Perhaps it would be wise to start saving up to £250 a month, that way, when the time comes, even if your manuscript is not chosen, you can still work with us, should we love your submission too much to gift it to another publishing house.
Where to begin?
Why, at the beginning, like every great writer. The thought of the end result will get in your way, thoughts of the future come with anxiety. YOU HAVE TWO YEARS TO DO THIS! You may have the manuscript in rough form, or not a word written. It doesn’t matter – you’ve got time…
Try taking a few deep breathes and saying this prayer:
Dear Divine Creative Entities, I know you have blessed me with a writer’s hands, I can feel it. Please guide them to write for you, not for themselves. Let these hands become one with the source of creation, let them feel safe enough to flow freely and trust in every letter typed, in every stop mark, in every pause and need for rest. Namaste. Amen. Thank you.
If you do not feel ready to commit to a whole manuscript – Do explore our our Social Service Writing Projects and browse the posters and pamphlets to glance over your other writing opportunities.
“When a writer’s words are read, they mix into the psyche of the reader and create a uniquely projected world of imagination. Before Twilight was published, every reader had their own Edward, their own Bella. Until film made a twitchy looking Kristen Stewart everyone’s Bella, and a rather dapper Englishman everyone’s Edward, every reader will have created their own world of fantasy. I preferred my own Edward in truth… my imagination seems to know what I want. It also knows what is safe. Read a Ken Follet or Wilbur Smith novel and you’re away in time and space. Watch something similar in motion picture and you sit in a trauma response cycle as harsh realities are cast in front of your eyes. Reading is far safer than screen content. Let us remember that, and come to treasure books for life.“
– Ana Maria Santuario, Co-Founder and Silent Partner.
